Planting for the Harvest

What perfect timing to post this blog!  I think of all of you back in the States, and how Thanksgiving will soon be arriving.  Thanksgiving is a time to remember all the events that happened over the year and to be thankful for all God has blessed us with.  Although I can say that we should be thanking the LORD daily for all HE has done!

Now in Belize is the time to plant the corn in the fields.Travis was privileged to go and to help some of the locals plant their cornfields!  It was quite an experience for him!  The work day began at 6 a.m.

This is the Road that they traveled to get to the field where they would begin to plant...as you can see it was VERY muddy!

Then...they had to walk about 20 minutes through the mud. Travis said that the mud was so thick that he lost his boot and thought that he would have to leave it.
Arriving at the planting site

AND...the work begins!  They expected to only have about 5 guys, and praise the LORD 12 arrived to help.  What an awesome time of fellowship!  To plant, they cut branches from the bush and use a machete to cut a point at the end.  They then use the stick to put the holes in the soil, and put about 5 seeds in each hole.  What was amazing is that it was sunny when they began to plant, when they arrived home, it started to rain.  So the seeds they planted were then watered!  What an awesome picture God had painted in my mind! When we plant seeds that the LORD is faithful to find someone to water them so that they can grow! When the results are out of our hands, we can trust them in HIS!

" I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth." 1 Corinthians 3:6
