As we write this, we have just passed seven years of being back in the United States, since returning from Belize in June of 2005. Upon returning from Belize, many blessings have been poured out upon us, such as my father's health, two beautiful children and a job that has great benefits. We also have helped in many ways with the start of Calvary Chapel Mesquite, where we fellowship. I am currently serving as an elder and overseeing the children's ministry along with other ministries in the church. Liz has been involved in the women's fellowship and teaches third through fifth grade in Sunday school, and also subsitutes for the local preschool. J.T. is now five. He loves to play sports and will start kindergarten in September. Isabelle turned four in June and loves gymnastics and will attend four year old preschool. We knew that moving to Mesquite was temporary and that God had our family here in preparation for something more.
After much prayer and counsel, we feel that God has opened doors for us to minister in Belize once again. There are many needs and we believe God has gifted us to help fulfill those needs. We believe that it is the Lord's desire for us to come alongside the local Belizean leadership at Toledo Christian Academy and the local churches in the area. We will help at Toledo Christian Academy to equip the students and teachers with God's word, so that they can be a blessing to their local churches. Some of the areas that we will be helping with are financial and spiritual stewardship for the students and staff, and communicating with churches stateside that will be sending short term teams down to Belize. Liz will be helping me in many of these areas and also be available to substitute teach at the school. All of these areas God has been preparing us for while serving in Mesquite.
Our plan is for me to quit my job by the end of August. We will then move in with Liz's parents, so we can save money and raise support. Lord willing we would like to be in Belize by the end of October 2012. To make all of this happen, we will need to raise $10,000 for the start up costs, which includes: plane tickets, fixing and furnishing the house that we will be living in, and purchasing a vehicle. Our goal for monthly support is $2500 per month, which include International Health care insurance. God has always provided for us and we believe that HE will continue to do so, as we move in the direction that God has for our family. We truly covet your prayers, as this is a HUGE step of faith for our family. We are excited to work alongside the Belizean people to Glorify God, and to see all of our friends and family partner with us and experience a taste of missions.
Glory to God,
The Jackson 4: Travis, Liz, J.T. and Isabelle
